Matron of Honor
Alicia and I have been friends for 10 years, and from the beginning we bonded effortlessly; immediately sharing countless laughs, wild stories, and moments I’ll never forget. She has been a steady source of support, always showing up when I needed someone to listen. Our conversations stretch for hours, and somehow, we still hang up with more to say. She’s encouraged me, loved me, and shown me what real friendship and sisterhood look like. In everything I do, I can hear her voice reminding me, “You got this.” When I first told her about Jeremy, she immediately said he was the one and that we’d get married, and I thank God she was right.
Best Man
Purpose and Love come to mind, this young man has seen his father struggle since his mother's transition over the years, which I tried to hide. He has seen me cry, smile and love again. If any one person made the biggest impact in my life it would be him, I’m forever thankful that your courage has given me strength over the years. One day you will understand what I mean and how much love I have for you, and you are my best friend.
Maid of Honor
Aralashea is my cousin, one of my “new” best friends, and my voice note partner in crime. We have hours and hours of recorded conversations, and we’re nowhere near done. I trust her more than most people, and she’s the person I turn to when I need honesty, love, and someone who truly gets me. I've had some rough moments this past year, and she's the one I've turned to immediately. I love her far beyond our blood connection, and I’m grateful that we get to be not just family, but real friends.
Groomsman
I’ve known Jeff for 15 years, through my late wife. His wife and my late wife were best friends. Jeff can always be counted on and was the main person who helped me during a difficult trial in my life when she passed away. Jeff dedicated precious time, advice and provided peace for me and my son by helping me create a legacy for Caleb and his future. I’m truly thankful for him and have nothing but love for him.
Bridesmaid
Carol helped me develop a term for the amount of peace she brings to my life. She is my NPF, my travel buddy, and queen of random texts that make me laugh for hours. She holds my secrets and always looks out for my best interests. If she says she's coming, I know she'll be there and there's not many people I can say that about.
Groomsman
Similar to Jeff, I met Scottie through my late wife. Scottie has always provided wisdom with life, finances, and guidance on raising my son on ways to be a strong Black man. I’m truly blessed to have him in my life and I call him a great friend.
Bridesmaid
Lakenya and I have been friends since we were 10, and at this point we share so many secrets I can’t even remember who did what. We’ve lived nearly 30 years side by side, navigating every high and low life has thrown our way. With countless inside jokes and the ability to communicate without saying a word, we built a forever bond that transformed friendship into family.
Groomsman
I recall meeting him during Thomas' birthday party event and he was a new manager at that time. I remember walking up to him, and the first thing he said was “I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan.” I’ll never forget that moment when we started a bond when I met him in 2018. Dra-on has offered advice on fixing cars, things around the house, which can benefit Caleb in increasing his responsibilities as he becomes a man. I’m truly thankful for our friendship.
Bridesmaid
Erica and I have been friends since we were 14. When we met she thought I was a teacher because I came to school in a skirt suit. She is my person, my true crime partner or maybe actually my partner in crime...She gave me the greatest gift of my first goddaughter and has always let me love her children like they were my own. She is the one who always agrees to matching shirts, sketchy side quests, and Mexican food. I can always count on her to give me the advice I might not want to hear, but need. She is my sister in every way, and I am honored she'll be a part of our special day.
Escorting the Bride
My father, Gerald D. Clark, the first man to ever love me passed away July 2019. Since he can’t be here to walk me down the aisle, there is no one more fitting to stand in his place than the man who has become my brother. Justin has always protected me and shown me real friendship. And honestly, since I introduced him to his wife, my best friend Erica, he definitely owes me.
