So yes, as of now we are still planning to go forward with our wedding plans for August 8, 2020. Some of the details we plan may change, but for now we are going to proceed by sharing our happy day with all the friends and loved ones we can. Latest update: we will be getting married at Altitude Church in Arvada, CO. At present we are limited in our guest list and we will be honoring social distancing procedures as much as possible. If you are unable to join us in person or don't feel comfortable attending in person, we encourage you to join us online for our ceremony and we will plan a large celebration when we can once again gather in large groups. Details regarding a live stream of the wedding will follow.
For those attending our ceremony, we are doing our best to honor social distancing practices, including a strict limit of 50 people in the building. We will have assigned seating at both the ceremony and reception. We encourage you to honor social distancing practices to your comfort level, including wearing masks and limiting physical contact as you feel is appropriate for you. If you have any concerns please reach out to us regarding these matters.
Handfasting is a historical Celtic custom that symbolizes the physical "tying of the knot" to unite the couple in marriage. Handfasting is performed with 1 or more ribbons or cords wrapped and tied around the couple's hands. The handfasting ribbons presented in our ceremony by our family and friends each represent a different blessing upon our marriage: Red - passion/strength Orange - bounty/mutual support Yellow - joy/harmony Green - prosperity/health Dark Blue - patience/devotion Light Blue - faithfulness Purple - sanctity/humility Black - wisdom White - purity/peace Pink - honor/romance Brown - balance Silver - creativity/inspiration Gold - intelligence/longevity
We got married on August 8, 2020. It was a lovely day, a beautiful ceremony, but something was missing… YOU, our family and friends!! The social distancing rules of the pandemic limited the number of people we could have present that day. We thought we’d found a way to still share our ceremony with you via live stream till a local power-outage that day made that impossible. Nonetheless we had eachother, a pastor (thanks Josh) and our immediate families, so we got married!! But now that we can gather again we want to celebrate with you!
