Duncan and Jessica met at their Alma Mater, the University of Georgia, where they were both in the same music theory class (a subject in which Duncan was annoyingly great). Duncan was always amused by Jessica's incessant questions to the music theory professor which she would find out almost two years later when he finally made a move. She talked to him nonstop that entire summer (a fact that her Oxford study abroad classmates can attest to), and they made it FBO that fall, two years after they met. Now, four years later, Duncan and Jessica (and their dogs Leia and Midna) are ready to take on whatever else life throws at them.

Duncan and Jessica went out to dinner with some friends for her "birthday" dinner. After dinner, her friend Destin suggested that they go to a new wine place across the street that she had heard about it and wanted to try. As they approached the bar, Duncan stopped in front of a gazebo and told Jessica that they weren't really there for her birthday. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, and of course she said yes! After he popped the question, Jessica and Duncan approached the bar where Jessica was shocked to discover that all of their friends had gathered to celebrate their engagement.
