It all started with a ladder. There was this wedding I had pre-booked a year in advance. I traveled to the city of Salisbury, MD, a day before my friend's wedding. She had invited me to spend some time with them while they worked on the décor. As I was helping out, another gentleman and I happened to be moving a ladder when we nearly hit a lovely woman named Mardocha with it. After the décor was done, my friend Darlenda and her fiancé Olendes invited me to tag along as they took their bridesmaids and groomsmen out for the evening. At the restaurant, I ended up sitting slightly across from Mardocha. The girl sitting between us needed to be closer to the end of the table, so I swapped seats with her. That gave me the chance to sit closer to Mardocha and continue listening to her amazing story about her adventure in Boston. Of course, that was also just an excuse to be near her as I found myself lost by her beautiful smile— I couldn't ignore the little sparks of chemistry I felt between us. What really stood out to me was how she chose to stay behind and help my friend with the decorations. That moment spoke volumes.
It all began when a gentleman from Massachusetts casually walked in the church sanctuary as the bridal party and family were setting up the decorations for Olendes' and Darlenda's wedding. Shortly after, as I was adding chair covers, a ladder was heading my direction. I looked up and noticed the same gentleman happened to be behind the ladder, kindly apologizing, asking if I am okay and if he hurt me. Of course, I was fine, but some things call for a bit of dramatization :) Since majority of the bridal party were already at the restaurant by the time I arrived with a few others, the very few seats remaining left were just enough for me and the kind gentleman to sit near each other. After some time, we ended up sitting right next to each other and had interesting conversations. Fast forward to the end of the wedding, the kind gentleman came up to me and said "I really enjoyed our conversation from the other day. You looked lovely tonight, I hope I will see you again soon." I laughed in my mind because what were the odds? In what storybook? Someone I have never met? Me.. see you again? Yet, all along, the Lord had been the Master Author of this beautiful love story, revealing His faithfulness through revelations, witnesses, dreams, prayers, and faith.
