We met while we were younger at various gatherings hosted by people of the Ika Association in Atlanta. Our parents would always attend and of course, by default, we had no choice but to follow them. We didn’t think anything of it at the time. As we grew up, we would run into each other occasionally and every encounter always felt so refreshing, filled with joy and laughter. Fast forward to our young adulthood, we found ourselves flirting with each other on social media, spending hours on the phone conversing about life, our goals, and our interests. We quickly became inseparable. We are deeply committed to continuously loving each other, despite our imperfections and flaws, helping each other become who God has called us to be with hopes of creating a beautiful family and legacy.
It was a long cold rainy day, fulfilling orders for one of our eCommerce businesses. Chris had mentioned how he wanted to take Dumebi out to eat to celebrate their friendship anniversary. Once she was ready, Chris surprised her with beautiful red roses and then he began to pour out his love and admiration for her. He quickly got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Dumebi was taken off guard but was completely overjoyed. It was just the two of us and it was pure bliss.
