A Serendipitous Reconnection

Erin and John's love story starts way back to when both were in middle school. Erin's first memory of John was during the 7th grade basketball tournament at Divine Mercy. John was playing on the St. Matt's team with all of his friends. Erin and her family were there in support of all the boys in her class and some of her friends. During the game, everyone in the bleachers tensed when John Nichol decided he was going to be the try hard and dive headfirst into the team bleachers to save a ball from going out of bounds. Many people in the stands were not happy with John's decision making and would call him a dumbass. But it paid off and the boys won the basketball tournament. Erin and John both went on to High School where they were friendly with each other, but never really hung out with each other. Fast forward to 2022, Erin was really excited because she just closed on her first condo. A few days after closing was the First Annual St. Matthew's Beer Garden which she decided to go with her parents. She also reached out to her old classmate, Luke Maurer to see if he was going as well. After catching up with Luke she mentioned she just bought her first condo in St Francis right on the lake. Luke then says hey John Nichol lives there. John just so happened to be at the St. Matt's Beer Garden with his family as well. So, Luke called John over and made the connection. John asked Erin for her number since he secretly fell in love with her right there. After Erin officially moved in, John invited her to have a few beers by the pool with him and the rest was history. John and Erin proceeded to hang out all the time and have fun together. Eventually John and Erin decided to make it official which brings us here today.

Goldfish Love Story

Background: John was bored one day and asked Erin what he should do that day. Erin gave him an assignment to 1) write a love letter to her and 2) write a story about a goldfish. John wrote this...

Once upon a time there was a cocky goldfish named John. He ate all the food, did what he wanted and called himself the king of the bowl. Whenever neighboring goldfish would look over, he would show off his smooth moves that only an athletic and sexy goldfish such as John could pull off. This cocky behavior would upset the other goldfish because they knew they could never be as cool. They would yell things like “congrats on being the king of your own bowl dumbass!” John did not care, he thought he had everything he needed and nobody could compete with him. After a long 3 years of watching this behavior, all the goldfish were so sick of John being an ass clown. All the goldfish except for one… There was one very flirtatious goldfish that had her eye on John from the very first day. While the rest of the goldfish wished he would shut up and go away, she was plotting how to move into his bowl. She knew she needed to get an up close and personal look at his smooth moves because she has never seen anything so hot in her life. Erin has been trying to save up enough food over the years because she knew that was the only way John would let her in his bowl. Once she finally built up enough food and courage to approach the goldfish of her dreams she made the move. As she predicted, the first thing John asked was: “do you have food?” Erin smiles and thinks to herself; wow he is very predictable, this will be even easier than I thought. John originally thought Erin was just a nice girl who had food. However one day Erin snapped at John for being an asshole, “This is why you have no friends!” At this moment everything changed. John realized Erin was not just a nice girl with food, she had a mean side to her that he loved. John always wanted another fish to bullshit and have fun with but never thought he would find one. The only problem was John is all talk and actually gets really nervous around pretty girls. He developed a plan to constantly injure himself so Erin could take care of him and grow closer together. Now John is no longer the king of the bowl but he wouldn’t want it any other way. They both wonder how he survived on his own before but it does not matter because he will always have Erin from now on. Erin understands taking care of John is a full time job but she loves doing it because she gets to witness his smooth moves up close for the rest of time. The two goldfish swim happily ever after…
