We met working at the Oar House one summer, Josh bartending and Natalie serving. Josh had a bit too much fun one night and at a staff meeting the next morning he passed out and hit his head off Natalie’s chair. It took him a month of plying her with snacks and she agreed to go to a Red Sox game. Everyone was shocked at how well behaved Josh was at his beloved Fenway Park and Natalie had no idea how deep his love for the Red Sox went. The rest is history! Now we are regulars at Fenway during baseball season but also enjoy spending time at home cooking and hanging out with our puppy Walter, spending time with family and friends and of course keeping up with all of the sports Josh can watch (while Natalie reads/naps).
We had just flown back from a quick trip to the UK after a travel day from hell and were jet lagged. Josh got up for work like normal. He commissioned his little sisters to bribe Natalie with coffee and the promise of free lunch. Meanwhile, he had been scoping out a good spot on York Beach (where we had our 2nd date) and hiding behind the rocks for the girls to arrive. Natalie was very confused when they parked nowhere near a restaurant at high tide, especially when Payton said she wanted to walk the beach (there wasn’t one due to high tide). Josh popped up on a rock and it still took Natalie a minute to realize what was happening. Josh pulled out a stunning ring and asked her to marry him. As far as we both remember, she said yes!
