When Brittany first moved to Charlotte in September of 2016, she quickly made some new friends thanks to brewery workout classes (Hi Mel & Alicia!). The first time they met, the ladies told Brittany that she should meet their "single guy friend Adam" to which she was not convinced and politely declined (lol sorry). A few months later in December, the crew invited both Brittany and Adam to a small house party that turned into a double date when other people couldn't come. They both went into it dreading an awkward blind setup but spent the evening bonding over beer, board games, and Adam's dog Fizz. Before the night ended, Adam asked for Brittany's number and they had their first date the next week.
Leading up to the engagement in April of 2022, Adam had been fake proposing to Brittany to throw her off his tracks. He would say something nice, get on one knee, then pull out his chapstick from his pocket or tie his shoe (lol). So when Adam booked a weekend beach getaway, Brittany tried not to get her hopes up again and to simply enjoy a beautiful trip. Their first day of the trip, Adam had booked a couple's massage in the afternoon and dinner reservations for that evening. Brittany really wanted to go to the beach after the massage and Adam was hesitant about timing and seemed a little nervous but she didn't think much of it. While getting ready for dinner, Adam set up a charcuterie board with champagne in the airbnb overlooking the beach. Of course, being some of Brittany's favorite things she quickly started snacking and asked Adam if he wanted to open the bottle of champagne. He grabbed the bottle and said "yes but there's something I want to do first." He got down on one knee, shared all the reasons he wanted to marry her, and Brittany said yes about a hundred times and couldn't stop crying.
