We're extremely excited to see all of you and celebrate our special day! Before you arrive there's a few things we want you to know! - We will not be having a welcome party on Thursday (10/7). However we may be out with the wedding party and friends for a light dinner and a few drinks in Pacific Beach that night. Let us know if you would be interested to meet up! - We will have limited permitted parking spots at the venue with an attendant on site from 3:15pm - 4:15pm. We suggest carpooling/ubering to the venue. - Make sure to bring a jacket as we are on the water and it will be a little chilly! - Depending on how long you want to celebrate we welcome you all to come out with us in Pacific Beach after the event that Saturday night! It was a love story for the ages! Ducote saw Franziska from across the bar at Pacific Beach ShoreClub and knew instantly that she would be special. Groomsman Dave Cuttell introduced Franziska to Ducote as an incoming intern at VAVi and even though Ducote could tell Franziska was special he had to be re-introduced to her on her first day at VAVi. While Franziska will refute the love at first sight claim she will tell you how she spent the rest of the time at the bar staring over at Ducote, entranced in his good looks.

Always the confident gentleman, Ducote decided to ask Franziska to make their relationship official via text as she sat on a train on a separate continent. Some doubt still lay in their minds but it was dispelled shortly after as Ducote made his first trip to Germany and the lovely hamlet of Scwabisch Gmund in order to prove to Franziska just how serious his feelings for her had become.

Under the pretense of a day of wine tours and tasting to celebrate Mother's Day at Niner Winery in picturesque Paso Robles Ducote was able to formulate the proposal only the writers of 'Love Actually' could conjure up. Under the shade of Heart Hill tree and with the support of a few bottles of Niner's best wine Ducote got down onto one knee, produced a ring, and stared into Franziska's eyes as he forgot what he was supposed to say. Franziska decided this would be a perfect time to laugh prior to saying yes! After a few moments of awkward laughing mixed with joyful tears the two embraced as a newly engaged couple!
