Amanda’s sister Abby and Amanda were at a Beach Boys concert. After a concert spent with Abby’s favorite band and 70 year olds, they decided to go out afterwards. At the first spot, they met two girls both named Amanda. They invited the sisters out. How could they deny a night out with Amandas!?! At the last spot a few guys offered them some drinks. Abby said yes grabbing some beer with Amanda declining with a scowl. Amanda’s phone had died and she wanted to take down the Amandas’ numbers. She grabbed a pen and paper. She asked one of those guys who had offered their beer to turn around. He was tall. Just the right back to write on. Bossy, no please, just turn around. She used his back to write her number down, barely thanked him, then continued on with her night. That was until Nick asked Amanda why she had asked him to turn around. She noticed he was actually pretty cute. She quickly answered, trying not to sound as stuck up as she had been. He was kind and funny. They laughed a lot. Exchanging numbers, there was a feeling of kismet.

We were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and Nick said he wanted to stop by a few places before dinner. He barely spoke to me during the drive. Nick is usually the talker. We drove up to the spot we went to during our first date by the Hudson over looking the city. Our first date was on Christmas (the only time I had off working in hotels) and weeks after we had met. We ended the night here and I remember us both thinking .. this could really be something special. On this night he starting talking to me as we were walking towards the water and for the first time ever he started to choke up. As he got down on one knee I couldn’t help but say “are you serious?!” After I said yes, I could hear our families cheering rushing towards us. I get to marry my best friend!
