Brian and Kristin both grew up in Brunswick, Ohio. They attended the same elementary school, high school, and, believe it or not, college. But somehow they never actually met. After college, Kristin moved to Bowling Green for graduate school. During winter of 2012, she returned home for the holidays and decided to "hit the town" with a few friends. They wound up at one of Brunswick's divey-est of dive bars. As the night carried on and mutual friends began to mingle, Kristin met Brian. They said hello, chatted a bit, and eventually exchanged numbers. Two weeks later, they went on their first date. And the rest, well, the rest is history. 💕
It started with a text message from Kristin's friend, Brittany. Brittany explained that she won a gift card through a work event for a nice restaurant in Columbus and thought it'd be the perfect opportunity for a double date. Kristin agreed, and Brittany promptly made reservations for a party of four... or so she said. Although snow covered the ground, January 20th was an oddly spring-like day. It was nearing time to head to the restaurant, and Brian was uncharacteristically on time. Kristin noticed, but decided to brush it off as a fluke. Once they got downtown, Brian found a spot to park a little ways away from the restaurant and fed the meter. As they walked across the bridge toward their destination, they enjoyed the beautiful snow-covered views of the Scioto River. It was then that Brian abruptly stopped, got down on one knee, and asked Kristin to marry him. And, of course, she said yes! Overwhelmed with excitement, Kristin and Brian continued on to the restaurant. As they neared their table, Kristin was surprised to find, not only Brittany and Adam, but her parents, brother, and close friends. Brian even arranged to have Kristin's best friend fly in from New York to join them. It was a perfect night of celebration - one that they are surely never to forget.
