Thank You!

Our Best Day Ever

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our marriage! From traveling to Charleston or sending us messages from afar, we appreciate everyone's love and support! Our day was even better than we could have imagined, and we felt all of your love. We are so excited to begin this journey of marriage! With all our love, Kate and Nick Drum

Shoutout to Our Guests!

Welcome to our wedding website! We will frequently be posting more travel/accommodation updates as more planning ensues. Check back for updates, and please let us know if you have any questions! We are so very excited to celebrate with you all as our closest family and friends. We are hoping that if time allows, we can spend more than a short time with you than just at the ceremony and reception and show you around this amazing city. If you haven't been to Charleston, we know you're going to fall in love.

How We Met

September 2006

We both were hired at the Beef 'N' Barrel to bus tables for our first jobs. Not glamorous, but taught us hard work and led to us meeting and having our first conversation in the "Old Room" in the middle booth closest to the beef bar. A shy 16-year old Nick, walked up confidently to the new girl and said, "So you must be Kate." After spending most weekend nights together at work, we quickly became great friends. We went on countless movie dates where we insisted we were just friends.

Making It Official

June 13th, 2008

Nick was away on his senior trip and afterwards came to Friendly's to celebrate Kate's senior dance recital night. Family and friends always had tradition to top off recital nights with ice cream. (Our current lives revolve around ice cream, truly fitting since our relationship began that way!) Nick joined in and afterwards took Kate on a walk down the road that magically lit up with fireflies. The night ended with a movie and a first kiss that made dating official!

Flash Mob Proposal

October 29th, 2017

What started out as a day of taking pictures of our friends' family, turned into a dream proposal! We began the day heading to Stony Brook State Park which has beautiful waterfalls and a walking path. While pictures were being taken of Nick and Kate, Nick told her to close her eyes. She of course looked around wondering what was going on and saw her sister who flew in from TN. After somewhat realizing what was happening, Kate closed her eyes. Nick turned on one of Kate's favorite songs to dance to, Pitbull's "Fireball." Nick told Kate to open her eyes, spun her around and surprised her with close family and friends who were there dancing away! Kate being a dancer from the time she was 3, was always awed by flash mobs, actually, dancing is a part of her everyday life. Nick put a lot of planning into this day! When the music was silenced, Nick got down on his knee and asked Kate to marry him. She quietly said "yes" with tears, a smile, and a hug for Nick, showing off the new sparkly on her finger to the family and friends waiting. *This location is special in that it's where Kate and Nick decided to give their relationship another go after a short break in college.
