Please RSVP by August 10, 2020.
Yes. Sean and Alexandra will be having their wedding in a church. Because of this, they ask that you dress in accordance with their church's dress code, as follows: "In obedience and humility to God and charity to neighbor, please dress appropriately when attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Men should be in collared shirts (no T-shirts, graphics, etc.) and long trousers (skin tight pants are never appropriate). Ladies should be in opaque clothing, not tight-fitting, coming up to the neckline front and back, covering the shoulders and upper arms, skirts coming down below the knee, even when seated. Veiling is welcome."
The ceremony begins at 2, but feel free to arrive early to secure a good seat and offer prayers for the soon to be newlyweds!
The wedding liturgy itself will be followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Catholic sacrament of marriage normally takes place within the context of Mass because the Eucharist/Communion both reflects and strengthens the bonds of love between the bride and groom, and between the couple, the Church, and Christ. Because Sean and Alexandra's wedding will be celebrated as part of a Mass, it may last close to two hours. ***Please see other questions regarding the Mass, and note that Sean and Alexandra will be putting together a program that lets you know how to participate during Mass if you so wish.***
Latin. Lots of Latin! But, don't worry, there will be booklets provided that will help you to follow along in English.
We believe as Catholics that the Eucharist (otherwise known as Holy Communion) is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that it both reflects and effects the spiritual union of the believer with Christ and all the other faithful. Because reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion. All guests who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion.
According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue.
Of course!! Sean and Alexandra love kids! But please include them in your RSVPs for seating arrangement purposes.
If you have any special requests or dietary restrictions, please contact Sean and Alexandra directly with at least one month's notice.
Sean and Alexandra are registered at Amazon.com and Bed Bath & Beyond. Links to their registries can be found in the Registry tab above.
