We're getting married

Our story began like those in the movies, Not cause we had a star studded cast or a brain melting plot twist, but because we were both employed at Silky Otter Orakei cinema. The start of our love story... Maia in the beginning knew he had caught a rough case of the feelings, as open conversations, warm yet nervous awkward laughter and one liners filled the canvas of their initial friendship. As Drish would speak in the language of memes, his confused face quickly turned into one of admiration and love, as he watched her become more and more comfortable around him allowing her weird lil self he adores, to blossom. Drishtee on the other hand, looked forward to being rostered on the same shifts as Maia (ofc it only happened once a week), as she started appreciating his presence, his gentleness and how the conversations just seemed to flow seamlessly. Soon enough, she came to realise that her meeting Maia was going to be one of the most special moments of her life. After a colleague masterfully crafted an after work hang out between the three, before “mysteriously” disappearing leaving Drish and Maia to climb the peak of an unplanned first date alone, they quickly fell into the comfort of being in each others presence and time suddenly had no meaning (not saying the margaritas didn’t help that along 😉) Fast forward a couple years and the two are as inseparable as a couple of conjoined twins. They’ve found a home together and not just in the literal meaning, but also the meaning they hold in their hearts: to have a safe place to look forward to at the end of a long day knowing whoever comes home last will always be welcomed by a voice that washes the day away, to have somewhere to always come together regardless of how long it takes, to have an arena for their matches of weirdness in a language only understood by them and to hold in their memories as the first time we ever felt what “our home” meant as a couple. On this day we celebrate writing another chapter in our story, only this time we’ll all be writing it together ❤️
