In a span of 48 hours we met, had our first date, and were separated by 2,394 miles. How we came together was nothing short of divine providence. On a cold February evening, we matched on a dating app and began messaging for hours only to learn Amanda was in NYC for a just a short time and actually lived in Arizona while Josh was living in New Jersey. Against all logic we decided to meet for a coffee date anyways just because we both had a feeling. The next morning, we showed up to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chelsea to meet for the first time. We sat down with our coffees and just began sharing stories, telling each other about our lives, and about who we are, with large smiles across our faces the entire duration of the date. After some time had passed Amanda had to leave to catch her flight home with her friends, but we both felt strongly that there was something so worth it between us that we agreed we should stay in touch. We began regularly having FaceTime calls for hours each evening as we were just so excited to get to know each other. With each passing night we both grew fonder and fonder of each other. A month later and Amanda came back to NYC to visit in order for us to spend more time together and have some proper dates. After the a perfect weekend in the city together we felt so strongly that there was a beautiful relationship in the making and decided to officially start dating. Distance and all. For over a year we lived 2,394 miles apart and while it was difficult being that far apart, it was somehow so easy doing it together. We had trips planned every month, going back and forth from Arizona and New Jersey. We would FaceTime often even just to sit there together while working from home, while we were cooking dinner, or to share what we were wearing out that day. In May of 2024 the long-distance part passed as once again God providentially made a way for us to be together. He opened the door for Amanda to receive a job transfer to White Plains, New York within her company and we made the move to finally live in the same city. On June 25, 2024 while taking a sunset walk down Wrightsville Beach, Josh got on one knee and asked Amanda to marry him. To which she said yes, taking us from 2,394 miles apart to together forever.
