We're getting married!

Like many young millennial couples, Anthony & Kaitlyn met online. They struck up a conversation, and it was immediately evident to Kaitlyn just how much effort Anthony put into initiating a relationship. They had great conversation, and Anthony took it the extra mile. Kaitlyn set up a trip to Chicago with her best friend, Caitlin. After only a few amazing dates, Anthony, a born and raised Southsider, took it upon himself to create an elaborate spreadsheet and plan their whole trip. He is a world traveler, and the most intentional person Kaitlyn has ever met. That is when she first realized just how much effort he put into the people and things that he loves and cares about. He made trips fun, and easy for her. Fast forward a few years, and the two have traveled all across the world, one meticulously planned trip at a time!

Anthony and his family go to the Kentucky Derby every year. As family has spread out over the country, and loved ones have been lost, it became a very special place for Anthony. He had a dream to propose to the girl of his dreams at Churchill Downs! Anthony couldn't sleep the night before the 148th derby due to his excitement. He stayed up all night watching Japanese horse racing. The next day, after a fun day of horse racing, he proposed to Kaitlyn immediately following the last verse of "My Old Kentucky Home," in between the 11th and 12th final race (The Kentucky Derby). Kaitlyn was so shocked, as he smuggled the ring through TSA-like security at the Derby without her noticing. Needless to say, Kaitlyn did not watch the legendary race with Rich Strike very intently, but mainly stared at her hand. They celebrated with champagne & hibachi immediately following the derby.
