We’re getting married!

1/15/18 {We met} 2/9/18 {First date} 9/28/18 {"I love you"} 10/25/19 {He bought the ring} 12/21/19 {He asked} {She said "yes!"} 8/1/20 {"We do"}

We met on the way to an ice skating activity in college. I was still a scared Freshman with only a few friends, and Drew had just gotten back from being in England. A mutual friend introduced us and we became friends right away. I could tell Drew was smart and funny and that He loved God. Drew wanted to get to know me better and I did not object to that one bit. Pretty soon I wanted to be around Drew more than any one else at school. We became inseparable friends. -Tara

Tara had no idea I was coming to see her that weekend. Her parents and I had pulled off the ultimate surprise. I sat on the plane overthinking what I would say to her when saw her, how I would avoid being awkward, and how I would drop to one knee and pop the question without shaking becuase of the nerves. Her parents picked me up from the airport and went to the house. I was excited to see her but a little nervous knowing what I had come there to do. I greeted her at her front door and she was in total shock. We had totally surprised her. Never before had I seen Tara speechless. After our initial hellos and greetings we went to the beach. She and I walked down the beach and I just told her everything she meant to me. I said how I’ve gotten to know her so well over the past couple of years but there was still much more I had to know. It was in that moment that all my nerves disappeared. I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. Of course, she said yes. It was the happiest moment of my life. -Drew
