Maid of Honor
Steph met Andrea doing a reading of a new musical. They realized they had the same vocal warm-ups, and decided to go out for a coffee. 13 years, many coffees, sushi dates, and heart to hearts later, they're besties and Steph is so honored she said yes to being "Maid of Honor!"
Best Man
Where to start? First off, I don’t know anyone else who makes me laugh so hard that the nape of my neck throbs like when I’m around Toby. Drew met Tobias on his first day attending Juilliard, and he couldn’t believe he met another classmate at the infamous music conservatory who also self-identified as a jock. They bonded over lifting weights, watching goofy videos on YouTube, and Drew sensed something about his presence that was inspirational as well as comforting at the same time. Toby’s sense of adventure is contagious, and he always encouraged Drew to set his sights to the highest of heights. Tobias lives in Europe, nevertheless they are still in contact daily. Love you, Toby.
Man of Honor
Steph met Michael at an audition 13 years ago and started talking while waiting to sign up. They bonded and have seen each other through some of the highest highs and lowest lows in each others' lives, not to mention he's a fellow Star Wars nerd...He's one of Steph's best, nearest and dearest.
Groomsman
Ever seen SuperBad? Well, that basically wraps up this Batman & Robin duetting duo growing up in Richmond. Drew and Zak first met at age 11, but their relationship really started to blossom after singing Tenor 1 together in choir at J.R. Tucker High School. From then on, they were attached to the hip before branching off to different colleges. They spent numerous weekends and summers performing in musicals, hanging out with their close friends at SPARC, munching on way too many Quarter Pounder’s from McDonald’s, singing harmony, having friend sleepovers (think Superbad) and sharing their passion for singing. Drew and Zak are happy to continue making new memories in NYC now that he’s moved back with his amazing wife, Ali from LA.
Bridesmaid
Steph met Liz through Ashley Verhassalt upwards of 15 years ago. Many coffee dates (Liz knows the location of every Starbucks in Manhattan), episodes of reality television (Wife Swap and 90 Day Fiancé are among faves), theme parties and heart to hearts later, Liz is one of Steph’s nearest and dearest.
Groomsman
My Bro from anther Mo, or as my dad calls him, The Code-Man. Cody and Drew met at Lyric Opera Virginia in VA, Beach back in 2011 while performing Verdi’s La Traviata. They were housed together and immediately recognized a magnetic tenor connection…it can get pretty loud between the two of them! Whether it’s going to Six Flags, NASCAR, an NFL game, or singing opera together at a high profile event they both seem to capitalize on the moment by spreading the fun. As time has passed and things have changed a trust developed that allows them to be there for each other no matter what challenge they must conquer.
Bridesman
Mark won Steph in a "custody battle" after he went through a nasty break up. They've been best friends through thick and thin ever since. Mark frequently introduces Steph to things that she only loves when shown them by someone else...ie "Game of Thrones" and is also a Star Wars and Muppet nerd of the highest degree.
Groomsman
Run with the Wind! Anthony and Drew met each other through Drew’s best man, Toby. Toby and Anthony were friends growing up in Rochester, NY and it was only a matter of time that Drew and Anthony would hit it off so easily. They were roommates in Astoria and that’s where they both really got to know each other. Many days after Anthony would run an easy 15 mile jog they would spend the end those nights kicking back to music over a hearty “Prost!” Anthony and Drew have grown so much since that time, and now Drew and Anthony are considered brothers for life. Drew is so proud of Anthony’s new family along his wife, Katie, and their precious daughter, Willow.
Bridesmaid
Ashley is Steph’s first real “New York friend” and they’ve known each other for upwards of 15 years. Having met singing a benefit concert for their mutual agent, they became fast friends and have been tight ever since enjoying many a coffee date and night out since! She is one of Steph's nearest and dearest! (She also took Steph and Drew’s incredible engagement photos).
Groomsman
My brother Brian is the kindest, strongest, most cheerful, and greatest thinker I know. Can he just land a trivia show, already?! Drew has enjoyed the best gifts from Brian that only brothers can give…horsing around, epic video game all-nighters, sneaking forbidden snacks, introducing iconic rap songs and the best of the 80’s cinema, sharing the passion of playing football, and of course kicking back a few brewskis while philosophizing life itself. Today, Drew cherishes the moments they both can still share as brothers, and is so proud of how Brian and his wife Sara are raising his beloved, nephew, Wyatt.
Bridesmaid
Steph met Maria when she was roommates with Mark Campbell and they hit it off right away. They have spent many a single “Galentines Day” together. They’ve seen each other through foot injuries, broken toes and were even roommates on and off and have supported each other through thick and thin for 9+ years now.
Groomsman
Mista, Mista! Jay and Drew met while attending Juilliard, but their friendship really developed once Drew moved back to NYC in 2014 after singing opera in Virginia for 3 years. Every time they would hang out it would eventually lead to both of them singing harmony together until one of them began quoting an Adam Sandler film. Jay and Drew share the same type of stupid humor, same taste in music (Josh Groban…roll eyes now), and most strangers seem to think they are brothers based on their appearance. They’ve been lucky enough to spend most of their time together either laughing or harmonizing across bars and rooftops in NYC!
Bridesmaid
Sisters…sisters, never were there such devoted sisters! Steph and Heidi played sisters not just once, but twice in different productions of “Fiddler on the Roof.” Twelve years later and many Facetime calls through ups and downs in their careers and lives later, their sisterly bond endures with Steph loving to get to know Heidi's husband Kyle over the years and being "Auntie Steph" to Calvin!
Groomsman
My Tailback and Brother for life! Marco and Drew first met at Short Pump Middle in "Computer Class", but they really became tight at a summer youth camp before attending High School. It was at that camp that Marco influenced Drew to play football, and Marco and Drew became the starting backfield at J.R. Tucker positioned as Tailback & Fullback. They started off playing JV, but Marco again encouraged Drew to continue with Varsity Football. There’s nothing like that type of chemistry between a running back and your lead blocker…I always will be willing to protect him. They’ve spent incredible memories on the field, committed numerous shenanigans at Kings Dominion, and share a deep friendship. Drew is so proud of “Coach Mo,” his wife, Leah, and their basketball star daughter, Jesica.
Bridesmaid
I remember the day my little cousin, Lindsey was born and am so proud of the woman she has grown to become. She is beautiful inside and out. I remember babysitting her as a little girl and even after I moved to New York, we’ve always retained our special bond. A fellow lover of fashion, now I look to her to figure out what's hip, in and what to wear. I can’t imagine getting married without her standing up there with me.
Bridesman/Groomsman
Without “DJ,” it’s possible Drew and Stephanie would have never met. Stephanie met David while doing "Fiddler" at Stages St. Louis and became fast friends. David and Drew go way back to the summer of 2006 when they were both apprentices at Flat Rock Playhouse performing in the Ensemble of Kiss me Kate and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He invited them both to a bar in Hell’s Kitchen to celebrate his birthday back in 2016 and they then saw each other again the following year at David’s birthday party in 2017, but they weren't single. He has been there for them both through thick and thin whether Drew and David were hanging in Astoria or Steph and him were grabbing drinks with Bruce Rebold philosophizing on life. They are both so happy for David and Catherine.
Bridesman
Grant and Steph first met on their first venture into Yiddish Theater in "Amerike, the Golden Land." When they first met, they felt like they had already known each other a lifetime. 5+ years later, a trip to Fiddler’s Anatevke, many special memories, and living together for a bit (in which Grant helped Steph draft some of her first Facebook messages to Drew), they are closer than ever and ready to share Steph and Drew’s special day!
Groomswoman
CACK! Sarah met Drew while performing Once Upon A Mattress in a summer SPARC production. They instantly had a connection that made this friendship a special one. Drew and Sarah spent many afternoons after rehearsals either laughing after recalling Adam Sandler movies or his comedy sketches, and they shared their love for playing Crash Bandicoot on PlayStation. Whether it was playing video games or laughing over a dinner at Nacho Mama’s, they always enjoyed each other’s company. They’ve kept in close touch for almost 20 years now, and he cherishes the bond they still share with each other. He is proud of all of her successes in the entertainment industry, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next!
Bridesman
Bruce and Steph met in St. Louis….in Anatevka where they also met David Bryant Johnson. Steph was Tzietel, Bruce was the Rabbi and he married her on stage every night. They became fast friends. Many late night talks, Game of Thrones nights, eating way too much cheese, and drinking way too much Disaronno sealed their friendship for when they returned to New York. Always staying in touch, many special memories together and even getting to share the stage again together in “The Sorceress” as father and daughter, Steph is so grateful to have Bruce is one of her nearest and dearest.
Groomswoman
Who else goes trick or treating together when you are both still 16…that takes some chutzpah! Emma and Drew also met during that summer SPARC production performing Once Upon A Mattress, and it was clear from the start that they would end up being best of buds. She may not know it, but Emma opened him up to local Richmond Theatre which stretched his viewpoint of what it meant to be an empathetic human. Not only that, she has always been there to talk through any challenge, and their friendship embodies an unspoken, unbroken trust. Emma has been a constant compadre of Drew throughout the years, and he would do just about anything for her too. So proud of all her successes and for her marriage to husband, Riccardo!
Bridesman
Deech and Steph met in the halls of "Columbus Academy" Upper School Freshman orientation and discovered they lived four houses from each other. Steph's dad would drive them to school every day and they became fierce friends. Their first "hang" involved watching "The Matrix" and bonding over Star Wars. Deech's strengths were more in the Math and Science department and Steph's were more in History and English. However, they both came together through their love of space, theater, and Steph's mom's "grilled cheese bagels." While Deech's path took him to Atlanta to major in Aerospace Engineering and Steph's took her to New York to pursue theater, they've never stopped being friends no matter how much time between phone calls. He is family to Steph and her family, and was loved by her dad.
Groomswoman
Funny enough, Suzanne and Drew first met in daycare around age 8, but they weren’t exactly close…AT ALL! In fact, everything took a U-Turn after Suzanne introduced her best friend, Emma to Drew during that summer at SPARC. From then on, Suzanne and Drew realized they really loved each other’s company! They would take drives together either getting Taco Bell or Ice Cream…don’t forget their famous “boop, boop, boop!” noises. They performed in many musicals together during their high school years, and were both nominated for the high school yearbook Superlative “Bound for Broadway.” Drew is thrilled that she is now a mommy to precious baby Elise, and Drew sends both her & her awesome husband Greg a beautiful life moving forward!
Bridesmaid
Jazmin and Steph met at an audition 15 years ago, although they can’t remember or agree on which one. What they do remember is going to Chipotle afterwards and bonding over the fact that they both have moms that are Delta employees and the joys of flying standby. Their friendship really blossomed though over Facebook chat conversations that would last until 2-3am since they are both night owls. Celebrating with each other and commiserating with each other, a very special friendship was born and stands strong today.
Bridesmaid
Stephanie met Gail through Mark Campbell years ago. She would come crash in Steph’s apartment when she flew in for auditions while living in Las Vegas. The tables were turned when Steph found out she was moving to Las Vegas for a year to be in “Million Dollar Quartet.” Gail and her incredible husband Aaron made her feel at home in a new city. Years later, Gail and her beautiful daughter Lydia lived with Steph for four months when they moved to the city and Aaron was touring with Jersey Boys. Gail was with Steph when she got the call that she booked “Fiddler” on Broadway and screamed up and down with her. Supporting each other through their careers and much more, their friendship has grown through the years and Steph is honored to have Gail, Aaron and Lydia as chosen family in her life.
Bridesmaid
Steph met Sarah Agar at Heidi Giberson’s birthday party back in 2015. Both hailing from Ohio, they became fast friends. Regardless of how long they’ve been apart, with both of them traveling for work, it’s always easy to pick right back up right where they left off. Many period dramas, fangirl-ing over Game of Thrones, creepy crime documentaries and helping each other through the best and worst of times, Sarah is one of Steph’s nearest and dearest. PS. Sarah had also met Drew through catering and when she initially found out they were dating, she immediately approved.
Co-officiant/Bridesmaid
Although Steph and Merete only met back in 2017 when she was choreographer for “Amerike, the Golden Land”, they feel as if they’ve known each other a lifetime. Merete has been there for Steph through many professional and personal ups and downs and had a front row seat to Steph and Drew falling in love. Whether it’s collaborating on stage in various projects at NYTF or their most recent collaborations behind the camera as they’ve navigated being artists finding ways to create during the pandemic (Merete helped Steph film and was instrumental to the “birthing” of “Food is a Love Language: Cookin’ with Steph), their friendship has grown and Steph honestly doesn’t know what she’d do without her.
Flower Girl
Sophie is Steph's fluffy little girl. Stephanie is so blessed and honored that Sophie picked her to be her "Doggie Mommy" almost 12 years ago. While Sophie has enjoyed extended vacations at "Grandma's House", she still loves her Mommy and her new adopted Daddy and loves owning the streets of New York City. Mommy loves making her "chickie", "eggies", playing with "Fr. Fox" and her countless balls.
Ring Bearer
Wyatt is Drew’s very special Nephew and Steph can’t wait to be his Aunt! He loves bugs, has an extensive rock collection, is enjoying playing soccer, loves to read, is a master “Bey Blades” and “Uno” champion, loves Harry Potter and all things dragon, especially “Big Purple” and “Big Blue.” Wyatt is incredibly smart, loves racing Uncle Drew, has one the kindest hearts and gives some of the biggest and best hugs a person could ever get. Steph didn’t know if she’d ever have nieces or nephews and the fact that she will soon call Wyatt her Nephew makes her giddy with joy. Steph and Drew are so proud of his curiosity, his adventurousness and the wonderful person he is growing to be! We love you Wyatt!
Officiant
Matchmaker, Matchmaker, make us a match...Drew and Steph definitely consider Joel their "Shadkhn" and if not for him, they may not have found each other. As director of "Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish", he was instrumental in guiding them through the process that lead them to fall in love. They are so incredibly honored that he's officiating their wedding and such a big part of this special day.
Wedding Coordinator Extraordinaire
Kat met Steph and Drew when she was the Production Stage Manager for "Fiddler on the Roof" in Yiddish. She was there in rehearsal when Steph and Drew realized the depth of their "Star Wars nerd-dom" when they both started singing "Seagulls" in rehearsal on a 10 minute break and had a front row seat seeing their relationship blossom on and off stage. She has seen Drew and Steph through so much both personally and professionally and they are both so grateful to have her in their lives.
