The Strip District was originally an industrial area filled with factories, mills, and warehouses in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Today, many of these buildings have been repurposed into markets, shops, and restaurants. It's one of our go-to stops when we're in town! We LOVE strolling through Enrico Biscotti Co (get the salted caramel!), La Prima Espresso Co (great for coffee and people watching), Colangelo's Pizza, Stamoolis Brothers Co., Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. (PennMac - big Italian market), and Granpa Joe's Candy Shop. The ORIGINAL Primanti Bros. is also located in The Strip District.
The Atlanta Braves are in town to play the Pirates the weekend of our wedding. Check out the best view of the city, enjoy the pierogi race, and grab an Iron City Light at the game.

Take a step back in time on a century-old cable car and see the best views of downtown Pittsburgh while riding one of the few remaining inclines in the country. Allegheny Wine Mixer is a Lawrenceville favorite, with its eclectic collection of flea-market paintings and a name inspired by the Catalina Wine Mixer scene in Step Brothers. As such, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, though it offers a selection of interesting wines by the glass, with pours from often underrepresented wine regions and a small but compelling cocktail list. Food is limited to meat-and-cheese plates, toasties, sweet bites, and specials like hot dog Sundays. Co-owner with Piccolo Forno’s Domenic Branduzzi, Roger Li also operates three nearby establishments: the excellent Izakaya Umami, multifaceted Nanban, and terrific Hong Kong-influenced Parlor Dim Sum.
