FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding venue is Carper Vineyard & Winery in Norwalk, Iowa. All events will be held here, including: ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The address is: 4603 Dakota Street, Norwalk, Iowa. For more on Carper Winery: https://www.carperwinery.com/

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

It is our hope the weather cooperates and that we are able to hold the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The venue has an enclosed building planned for the reception and dinner.

Question

What is the recommended attire?

Answer

We ask guests to kindly dress in cocktail attire, so we'd love to see you in your best-dressed look. Please keep in mind the ceremony will be outdoors. Think for men: suit or blazer with dress pants, tie optional. Ideas for the lovely ladies: cocktail dress, midi dress, pantsuit.

Question

What time is the ceremony? What time is the reception?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4:00. Please allow enough time to get there with time to spare. We want you to sign our guest book, grab a program and pick up some other fun items along the way prior to getting seated. Seating will begin at 3:45. We want to ensure everyone is in their seats so that our ceremony can get started on time without interruption. A social hour will follow the ceremony immediately for about one hour. After that concludes, we will go indoors for the reception, dinner, dance and other fun activities!

Question

Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue?

Answer

Beginning at 8 pm, small bus transportation will be provided on the hour, making a circuit loop of the two Norwalk hotels listed on our website and then to the Marriott West Des Moines (also listed on our web site). It will leave every hour between 8-11 pm, with the last ride leaving at 11 pm. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving, but Lyft and Uber are great options for those who don't. Please stay safe and default to ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

Question

Can I bring extras with me?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue, which means sadly we are unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have questions, please reach out.

Question

Is the venue ADA compliant?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony and reception are accessible for guests with mobility requirements, such as walkers or wheelchairs.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have a hotel block reserved at the Marriott West Des Moines. Please see the "Travel" page of our web site for more details. The Marriott West Des Moines is located in the Jordan Creek area. It's a great option if you are coming in for a few nights or want to be closer to restaurants and shopping. The special hotel block rate of $139 (it's a good rate!) expires on 5/28, so book soon. We also have some recommended hotels in Norwalk, which is much closer to the venue. They are more expensive currently than the Marriott, but are certainly an option. These are also listed on our Zola wedding website under "Travel".

Question

Are you registered? Where should we ship your gift?

Answer

Yes, we are registered a few places. You can find the details on our Registry page on this website. These places should offer an option directly to you to ship to our address. Please make sure to include a card or note/message with the order, so that we are able to thank you properly.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony; we'd like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we will encourage guests to post pictures using our wedding hashtag app (will be provided at the venue), so that you can help capture the special moments for us to see, too!

Question

Can I bring extras with me?

Answer

We're so excited to have you at our wedding, but due to venue size and other factors, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation and in the RSVP system. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, their is plenty of onsite parking at the venue.
