The fact that we didn't meet sooner is INSANE. We have dozens of mutual friends and spent summers hanging out with the same people, at the same parties, without ever meeting each other. We ended up meeting in the Penguin Brother's drive-thru February of 2018. Leyna went through the drive-thru with Sarah Hall after their scuba class. Drew was working and helped get them delicious ice cream. He remembers Leyna being super flirty with him, which was probably true. We chatted for a few minutes before leaving with no way to contact one another. Fast forward a week later, Drew's cousin, Ivy Marcucci, posted a photo on instagram with Drew tagged in the post. Leyna had met Ivy a year prior on a group date and noticed Drew in the photo. She followed him on instagram and he messaged her asking where they had met because she looked familiar. Leyna explained that they had met at Penguin Brothers and Drew said that he had wanted to ask for her phone number, but was nervous with Sarah there. We ended up exchanging phone numbers over instagram. A few days later, we went on their first date. Drew happened to remember that Leyna said she loves french fries in the drive-thru. He took her to Bruges Waffle and Fries. We never stopped seeing each other after that first date! Bruges is now a sentimental place for Drew and Leyna and we go whenever we can, even to get engaged!
