Jacksonville Beaches
Nice beach, our fishing pier has been destroyed by Hurricane Irma, along with the push back of majority of our sand dunes. You can still enjoy the sandy shores, and it was interesting to us to see what kind of damage a category 4 hurricane can do.
Historic District of Old St. Augustine
There is sooooo much to do in St. Augustine! Lots of shops, historic forts, ghost tours, excellent food, and lots of attractions including the Alligator Farm, St. Augustine Lighthouse, and a pirate ship. Only about 45 minutes from our house / recommended hotels. Great place to make a day out of.
Jacksonville Zoo
We love the zoo! Feed the giraffes, pet sting rays, and check out the tiger walks. There are a few different places to eat (The only by the Jaguars is pretty good), and the weather will be perfect for the animals to be out and about. The train ride is worth the couple dollars extra so you can see the other side of certain exhibits, like the elephants, that you can't see when walking and it happens to be Luke's favorite thing to do.
Adventure Landing & Shipwreck Island Water Park
Bringing kids? This is a great little spot we take Lilly & Luke! There is a water park, 2 mini golf courses, laser tag, arcade, batting cages, and go-carts. Spend a couple hours playing games, or half a day splashing around. Keeps kids busy rain or shine.
St. John's Town Center
Outdoor mall with everything from Target & Ross to Tiffany & Coach. Lots of great shopping and excellent places to eat (Cheesecake Factory, Maggianos, Ted Montana's). Stop by Kilwin's for some sweet treats (Lilly loves their fudge).
Big Talbot Island
The is Big Talbot & Little Talbot Island that is perfect if you want to be surrounded by nature off in a quiet little area. Normally not any crowds and just plain relaxing. This is our break from the chaotic world.
