Jamie wanted to try something new, and instead of picking up a hobby like chess or baking she went on the search for a local Strongman and Powerlifting gym. That’s when she stumbled across Main Street Barbell in Toledo, OH. On her first day there she walked to the door nervous for the new adventure and as she waited at the door to be let in, a young man saw her at the door and let her in. This young man introduced himself, Drew, and inquired what she wanted to train for and made her feel welcomed from the moment she walked in. For the next three months straight whenever Jamie would show up at the door Drew would drop and stop whatever he was doing to run to the door to open it for her. What started as two strangers quickly grew into a friendship, many after training burgers dates, and two people supporting each other’s dreams and goals. One day, Drew, a man who was figuring out his feelings said, “Jamie you are my cheeseburger with extra bacon and extra cheese, I love you like I love cheeseburgers”. And the rest was history.
