We first met when Drew and a few friends traveled to Greeley, CO for state basketball. I was attending University of Northern Colorado in Greeley at the time. A mutual friend asked my roommate and me to join her and the guys for drinks - so we did. A few drinks turned into a whole night of fun and conversation. To make most of their weekend, plans continued into the next day. The weekend was a success, but we had to go back to reality! After going back to our normal lives, we did keep in touch. The summer came, and things began to change. Drew had moved back to Holly, and I was home in Lamar for the summer, so we began spending some time together. As the summer continued, so did we. The rest is history!
I had a weekend in Denver planned with my aunt. She took me to get my nails done, took me shopping, and planned a dinner at my favorite restaurant. Drew went to get lunch with his uncle (which took an oddly long time). We all had plans to go to Hudson Gardens later that evening to see the Christmas lights, because this is one of my favorite things to do. It was a normal tour until the sleigh. It was not great, so I didn't want to take pictures in this silly sleigh. I finally agreed, but I was not happy. Drew continued to these mediocre trees, and I continued to complain how they weren't great either. After a few minutes of Drew begging, and me trying to explain how we were in a lady's photos - I went. He was odd and clearly nervous. He positioned me in this very specific spot, told me not to move, and everything clicked. HE. PLANNED. EVERYTHING. He was behind the Denver trip, my nails, and the shopping. He did meet with his uncle, but he also met with the photographer. The photographer who I was so concerned about. She was actually my photographer - who knew? It was the ultimate surprise, and it was perfect!
