Flight
DIA is the closest major airport to Crested Butte. If you are coming from out of state and choose DIA, the order of operations woud go: flying into DIA, renting a car, and road tripping to Crested Butte (about 4 hours). The drive may sound daunting, but the snow-capped mountains hugging either side of the highway make the drive more enjoyable. PLEASE keep the weather in mind when planning your travels to Crested Butte. There is a strong likelihood of snowfall in March, and the drive from Denver to CB is infinitely easier, prettier, and safer, during the day time.
Flight
The Gunnison airport is the closest airport to Crested Butte, just about a 35-minute drive into town. Because it’s a small regional airport, flights can sometimes cost more than flying into Denver International Airport (DIA). Many visitors choose Gunnison when they want to skip the longer drive and arrive closer to the mountain towns, while others fly into Denver if they prefer more flight availability and lower fares.
House Or Rental
We strongly recommend connecting with fellow invited guests and utilizing Airbnb or Vrbo for a multiple-room house rental. There are ample Airbnbs/condos both in town AND at the base of Crested Butte Mountain. There are two separate neighborhoods to note when researching stays: Crested Butte town, and the mountain resort. These two neighborhoods are a short 7 minute drive apart, so either are appropriate for our celebration. If you stay at the mountain resort, there is a free town shuttle that runs to and from town. If you would like to party the night away without worrying about driving back up the mountain, we recommend looking into this transportation option on the evening of our celebration. BUS SCHEDULE POSTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!
Hotel
If you are not planning on skiing and just planning on exploring town and enjoying the party, we recommend Elk Mountain Lodge. It is located .1 mile from the party (Public House), as well as the main street in town.
Hotel
We also recommend Old Town Inn in the town of Crested Butte. It is located .5 mile from the party (Public House), as well as the main street in town.
Travel Note
The link below shows the winter town shuttle stops and hours, a reliable means of transportation for those who want the option (make sure to check the running times!) We have used it many times with ease and comfort. For those staying in CB town: your bus stop will either be Old Town Hall (2nd and Elk) or 4-Way Stop, depending on what side of Main Street you are on For those staying at the ski resort: your bus stop will be Mountaineer Square/Transit Center We highly encourage utilizing this service if you are staying at the ski resort and don't want to drive to the party in town, or if you are staying in town and don't want to drive up to the ski resort on our ski day. Please keep in mind the bus stops running between 11:40pm-12am each night.
