Great restaurants, bars, and shops! Worth a walk up and down to see one of the cooler areas downtown!
Really cool artsy area with some great eats and funky sights. Check out Duckpin Bowling, some fancy eats at Bluebeard, or grab a drink at Chilly Water Brewing Co.!
See the Indianapolis Zoo light up at night with Christmas at the Zoo. This event starts up the day after our wedding on 11/23/19, its such a cool sight to see that goes back to 1967.
These gardens get transformed into a sparkling, shimmering wonderland of over 1.5 million lights for the holiday season. Drew and I have actually not been able to get tickets to see these (we are also procrastinators so we could have if we would have been more on top of it). But the reviews from friends is amazing. Tickets go on sale in October and the light show starts on 11/24/19.
It may not be May for those of you that enjoy Indy Car racing, but you can still check out the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The IMS also has its own Christmas light display (Lights at the Brickyard), where you can drive around the track (not at 200+ mph). Also, there are several restaurants and breweries on Main Street in Speedway next to the track. If you get a need for some speed after learning the history of Indy Car in Indiana and see the lights, you can race away at Speedway Indoor Karting for some indoor go karting. This track is owned by Sarah Fisher (a former Indy Car driver and team owner). Who knows you may even see a current Indy Car Driver as several visit or live around the Indianapolis area and have been known to jump on the track at SIK.
So our town has gone craft beer crazy with over 30 breweries in the Indianapolis and metropolitan area. If you're looking to try out some local beer there are a few tours you can take or simply ask one of us and we can direct you to some of our favorites.
