Pronounced 'green', this small historic city has a walkable downtown, Texas' oldest dance hall as well as one of our favorite restaurants: The Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar. Eat there if you can! Drew took Blanca here for her birthday last year.

Fun Fact: Drew took me to Schlitterbahn for my birthday last year in July, it was cool 100-degree day. We felt like we both nearly had a heat stroke. 1/10 would not recommend going in July.

The Pearl is a former brewery from 1883. Stop by Hotel Emma, grab a taco or margarita from La Gloria, and wander the shops in the area.

Never been to San Antonio? The Alamo is a go-to tourist spot. Fun fact, a recent addition of items was donated by musician Phil Collins who is a huge collector of Alamo memorabilia.

Another core San Antonio tourist location to visit if the weather is nice. Plenty of walking paths, lined with restaurants and bars.

Fiesta

Across San Antonio,

Fiesta is a massive 11 day local celebration that involves parades, special events, performances and more. The last day of Fiesta is May 4 so if you’re able to stay a bit longer in the area, check out what’s planned. Fun Fact: People and organizations create and trade Fiesta medals to raise money for various charities and causes.
