Since the event is later in the day (at sunset) we won't be having a formal dinner. We'll be hosting a cocktail hour reception- think light snacks, desserts and cocktails. We suggest having a light dinner prior to arrival.
While we love and appreciate all the children in our circle, we're excited to celebrate with just their parents. Please leave the kiddos at home and enjoy a kid-free night out.
Have you ever been out shopping and saw something you really loved but didn't buy it because "I don't have any where to wear it?" Or have something in your closet that you're "waiting for the right time" to wear? This is the event to wear it-- those shoes, that dress, oh the suit! Sequins, leather, feathers, or be-dazzled jewels, the more outrageous, opulent, extravagent the better. It's a celebration! That being said, the festivities are being held in our back yard. Stilletto heels may not be the best choice of footwear for traipsing about in the grass.
Parking is available in the parking lot of Wilson Middle School. Turn right on Baumey at 13th street, you'll drive past the house and enter the parking lot. We are the only house on the block with the school's sports fields.
There are lots of hotels to choose from in the communities surrounding Wyandotte. We do not recommend any hotel or motel in Wyandotte or Lincoln Park, unless you enjoy sleeping with one eye open, bedbugs or body lice. Taylor, Southgate and Dearborn have several affordable options. Downtown Detroit is about 20-25 minutes away as well.
