We had a class together the Fall semester of our junior year at Oglethorpe. I remember thinking “he’s kinda cute” but then did nothing about it. Fast forward to our final semester at Oglethorpe where we had two classes together. One where we sat next to each other and one where I had to give a presentation on how opposites don’t attract, but similar people do. After talking for a full semester, I knew we were similar people. I remember being so nervous to give it because I had started to develop a crush on Drew but didn’t know what to do about it. We were almost right next to each other for graduation, just one person in between us! About a week after graduation, we hung out for the first time: a long walk along the Beltline by Krog Street. A couple hours after hanging out, he texted me asking if he could “hypothetically” take me to dinner. I woke up from my nap, had a panic attack for about an hour, and finally said yes. Looking back, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
We had a class together our junior year of college (shoutout to Mr. Shillito). I remember thinking she was pretty cool and kind of cute, and we worked on a fun in-class project together, but I didn't really think much of it at the time. As time went on, we ended up having two more classes together our senior year. From the start, I thought Colleen seemed really funny and cute (I sat next to her in both classes because "she was the only other person I knew"... which wasn’t entirely true). In March, I decided it was time to be brave and asked her if she would like to go play trivia with me one day. She politely declined because she was going to be busy at work. After this, I decided it wasn't meant to be and that she would remain the cool girl who sat next to me in class. Well, you see how that turned out... During graduation, since there was only one person between us, we spent a lot of time crammed into a stuffy library together waiting for the ceremony to start. It was here that our first selfie was taken, and I decided that maybe it would be worth a shot to ask her out again. A little while after graduation, I asked Colleen if she wanted to hang out one day (not yet a date). It went great, and I instantly knew that I wanted things to continue. I texted her that same day to officially ask her on a first date, and that was easily the best decision I have ever made.
