Nicole & Jordan's paths first crossed in 2014 at the University of South Dakota at a formal Jordan's fraternity was hosting. Following Nicole's graduation in 2018, she moved back home for a job and quickly convinced Jordan to apply to a marketing position in Minnesota. Although leaving his home state of South Dakota and countless friends in the area wasn't easy, he knew moving closer to Nicole is where he wanted to be. Fast forward almost 2 years later, Nicole and Jordan found themselves living in a cozy apartment in the heart of Uptown, Minneapolis. While no one could have predicted the craziness of 2020, it was a year where the couple learned how to delicately intertwine their lives together in the space of their 700 sq ft. apartment. While at times being "stuck" in such a small space at the start of the pandemic felt isolating, Nicole & Jordan grew closer. From creating a "home" gym in the basement garage of their apartment, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, and escaping to the lake or river whenever the weather was nice, both knew there isn't anyone else they would've rather taken on the year with. Having each other during this time helped paint a picture of how they could live the rest of their lives together. As the year wound down they began talking about what their next step as a couple would be. With their lease being up in a few short months, they decided it was the right time to start searching for their first house. With the housing market hot as ever, they decided to put a pause on their search over the holidays and join Jordan's parents, Kevin & Shelley, on a vacation in Orlando, FL. The Janousek's had room for extra guests on the trip and generously invited Nicole's parents, Bob & Brenda to join as well. Nicole found this slightly suspicious but Jordan had not mentioned proposing or an engagement ring recently so she didn't think too much of it. Before leaving MN, Nicole was trying to get an idea of what to pack but all Jordan claimed to know was that Shelley made plans for us to go see a Ferris wheel on the second night. As the evening approached, both sets of parents decided on a fancy restaurant for dinner following the sunset Ferris wheel ride so Nicole quickly jumped into the 1 dress she packed for the trip and painted her nails. Just before hopping on the Ferris wheel, Nicole overheard Kevin ask Jordan if he had the tickets with the champagne package because Orlando COVID restrictions "only allowed riders to remove their masks if eating/drinking". Nicole once again found this highly suspicious. As their cabin approached the top and everyone was taking in the sunset views, Nicole turned around to find Jordan down on one knee holding a beautiful diamond ring. Over the last year and a half, we have spent time celebrating our engagement and preparing for this next chapter in our lives. We truly can't thank everyone enough for the support we've received along the way which has led us to where we are today.
