Travel

We know it takes a lot for most of our guests to arrive to Bolivia and we thank you! Below you will find all the information you will need for easy travel in Cochabamba.

Flight

Flights

Boliviana de Aviacion is typically the cheapest option for tickets, but look for other options too. Check the link below "View" to book directly through the BoA website which is typically cheaper and may not show up on Google Flights and other websites. We typically fly: Miami (MIA) -> Santa Cruz, BO (VVI) -> Cochabamba, BO (CBB). Flight from Miami to Santa Cruz is around 6 hours 45 min. Flight from Santa Cruz to Cochabamba is 45 min. Purchase from your destination to Miami on airline of your choice. There may also be an option from DC. For those making this a vacation, there are also many flights to Lima, Peru and other surrounding large cities in other countries.

Travel Note

Airbnb and Hotels

We recommend the area listed in this map. Fidel Anze park, Lincoln park, Cala Cala, America ave., and Recoleta are all safe areas with easy access to many restaurants/bars. Many nice apartments for $20-50/night through Airbnb. Hotel Cochabamba and Hotel Aranjuez are also good options. Contact Andre if you have any questions!

Transportation

Moving around in Bolivia is very easy with taxis. They are $2-4 anywhere in the city. You can download Yango or Indrive, which work similar to Uber. Make sure to set up your account before entering Bolivia. Radio taxis are also a great option (they have company sticker on the side of the taxis). These are safe taxis to take and you can find them everywhere in the city. We plan to have transportation to the venue on our wedding day. There will be safe taxis outside the venue for the end of the event.

Gringuito-Visitor Information

Cochabamba is at a high altitude, therefore it is a good idea to give yourselves 24 hours to acclimate before the dancing begins. Also, alcohol will feel stronger! Bolivia does not have safe drinking water on tap. Therefore, if you do not already know, these are the following things to avoid and consider: -No lettuce/raw vegetables -Fruits with a peel are safe -Wash fruits without peel thoroughly with bottled water -Cooked items are safe -Water in large blue barrels and bottled are safe
