Our story began with the brave vulnerability that comes with putting yourself out there on dating apps. The spark flashed over 5,200 miles distance while Eliyah was in Sweden and Dream in Sacramento. Hinge the dating app has a slogan that is, “The app that is designed to be deleted.” We can confirm this statement to be spot on. What caught Dreams attention was Eliyah’s boldness and sincerity—he didn’t waste time and went straight to the point. I remember the moment he saw a video of me riding my longboard on a pump track. His comment was simple but electric: “Where is this? I’ll take you here on our first date!” Though that specific date still hasn’t happened! His words were like a spark, igniting something deep inside me. I could feel the warmth of his soul, even though I hadn’t yet heard his voice or seen his face in person. Eliyah found himself also gaining a charge while telling himself, “This feels real.” Our connection grew quickly, like two pieces of a puzzle clicking into place. We exchanged phone numbers, and soon enough, long nights filled with laughter, deep conversations and moments of vulnerability followed. Even with a 9-hour time difference we talked for hours during our first exchanges, once even five. In these deep convos we discovered each other's dreams, fears, beliefs and quirks. It was as if time didn’t exist when we connected only the undeniable bond we were forming. When Eliyah finally came to Sacramento, our excitement was palpable. We couldn’t wait to meet in person. The first time Dream saw Eliyah, she was overwhelmed with a sense of peace. There was something about him that made everything feel right, as though their paths were always meant to cross. They just knew—this would be something meaningful. Now, looking back, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for how life brought us together. We’ve built a beautiful life side by side, full of music, adventure and shared passions. We've embraced our differences, from our cultures to our dreams and made them part of our union. Our love has blossomed into a family, with two incredible daughters who remind us every day of the boundless love we share. As we continue to weave our story, we are filled with joy and pride for the life we’re building and the memories yet to come. Today, we celebrate not just our love, but the beautiful journey that brought us here—and we can’t wait to create even more memories with everyone who shares in our happiness.
