We first met during freshman year when we both joined the pole vault team, but didn't really notice/pay attention to each other. Not until late sophomore year/early junior year did we start to become great friends. We became each other's best friends and that's when Drew asked Tayler to go to the prom with him. A few weeks later Tayler told Drew that she liked him and they had their first date on May 10th, 2019. It's been wonderful and so amazing ever since.
During the summer Drew's family regularly visits Hume Lake. I was invited to start joining their vacation a couple of years back, and I am so glad they did. This particular Hume trip didn't seem out of the ordinary, however, I almost said I shouldn't go because I would have to skip a day of my tech school. Drew, was not fond of me missing out on Hume, so I skipped class. When we got up there it was late afternoon, unpacking and settling in. We stayed up late with Myles (Drew's brother) playing cards and watching the stars/battling mosquitoes until we couldn't stay awake any longer. We had planned for the next day to be an early morning so we could watch the sunrise since it was tradition. (This would be the second year in a row to watch the sunrise, so it wasn't really a tradition. It was just an excuse to get me up early in the morning without question) Drew, Myles, and I left the cabin at 5:30 am and sat down just beside the lake, with mist rolling over onto the shore. Myles had just about settled when he realized he had to really go to the bathroom (aka an excuse so he could hide and take pictures) Drew and I were sitting, talking about our relationship, and he was being exceptionally sweet. I was distracted by a duck in the water and had no clue what was going on. He asked if we could stand up to adjust the blanket we were sitting on, so we both stood up and he got down on one knee. He proposed, we both teared up, and Myles came back over. I exclaimed to Myles "Did you even have to pee?!", laughing about how he explained he was taking pictures. We went back to the cabin and told everyone and called our relatives. We have a wedding to plan!!!
We have 3 reptiles...for now. Sadie (Red Bullsnake), Ink (Axanthic Hognose), and Mushu (African Fire Skink). They are so amazing to have as pets and I cannot imagine life without them. Sadie is such a sweetheart, Ink is a cute little sassy boy, and Mushu is just a judgmental food-motivated skink.
