We're Getting Married!!

We actually met online — I know, not the most traditional beginning, but definitely part of God’s plan for us. Drake left a funny comment about having to “share me with Uncle Sam,” and it made me laugh enough to message him first. From there, everything felt easy. Our First Date (March 25, 2024)... Drake picked me up at my parents’ house (very classy, I wish I had thought to save it on the ring camera) and took me to Martell's in Kalamazoo, where we spent the evening laughing and realizing pretty quickly that this was something special. (Even though neither of us were prepared for how fancy of a restaurant it was and we forgot to tip (oops!). From that point on, things just kept falling into place. Flash forward to the Proposal (November 7, 2025)... It actually almost happened two days early at Gull Meadow Farms… until we realized it was closed (why does it close the day after Halloween??) Drake tried again a few days later. Following dinner with his parents, we took a walk downtown in Marshall, stopped in a small park, and he finally dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. It wasn’t flashy or perfect — but it was thoughtful, meaningful, and very us.
