At the beginning of 2024, Angel was finishing her master’s degree at Troy University, and William was training to become an Army aviator in Enterprise, Alabama. Focused on their futures, neither expected what was about to unfold. On February 3, 2024, a simple Hinge notification changed everything. One swipe led to a first date that same evening at Mikata’s Japanese Steakhouse. Over hibachi and easy conversation, they felt an undeniable connection. From that night on, they knew something special had begun. February 3rd will forever be the day two paths became one.

In February 2025, with William on leave and Angel on spring break, the two traveled to Texas to visit friends Bryan and Elie. What Angel didn’t know was that William had a beautiful secret plan in motion. On February 20, they went to Royal Tower in Dallas for what Angel believed was a simple anniversary dinner. Later, back at the Virgin Hotel, a “quick drink” led to a surprise prepared with the help of their loved ones. When Angel walked into the room, she found William waiting and he popped the question! She said yes.
