We're Getting Married!

What started as a normal night out in LA turned into the beginning of everything. I was living in Anaheim and Donovan in Oxnard, so without what we now know was fate, the chances of us running into each other under normal circumstances were slim. We were both invited by different people to attend a birthday party at their friend's house in LA. Donovan spotted me sitting at the kitchen counter and somehow managed to get me to crack a smile, which was a first for me that night (I was not really in the mood to be out that night). With confidence (and great timing), he made his intentions clear and asked me out to dinner. Just two days later, he drove nearly two hours from Oxnard to Anaheim, and what was supposed to be a simple first date turned into hours of effortless conversation. It felt less like a first date and more like catching up with a longtime friend—so much so that the restaurant had to politely tell us they were closing and it was time to go. I was not ready for the night to end and it felt like there was so much more we both wanted to say. So we kept finding our way back to each other every weekend. Eight years later, that random night out in LA became the prologue to our love story!
