It was just after midnight during my 20th birthday celebration with all of my friends and a lot of people I didn't even know. He walked in and sat down on the couch. He knew a couple of my friends from other parties. Apparently he told our friend, Paxton, he thought I was really pretty. She then turned around and found me to tell me to go flirt with him. I was nervous and did not want to walk up to a guy I hadn't met from Adam and start flirting with him. Paxton told me to go add him on Facebook or Snapchat so we could talk later. So I walked over to him, sat down next to him and asked him his name. Then I proceeded to ask him what his Snapchat username was so that we could keep in touch later. The next afternoon, we snap chatted each other. A few days passed, we eventually ended up with the other's phone numbers and we began texting each other. I was sitting in my psychology class one night and he said "This texting thing is fun, but are we ever going to hang out?" So I told him to come over and we would watch a movie that night when I got out of class. That's what we did. I made him watch The Longest Ride with me, and my Neptune girl curled up and went to sleep in his lap. Neptune doesn't like many people, so she kind of let me know that he may be the one.
We decided to go on an actual date after hanging out for a about a week or so. It was a Thursday night, and he told me I had go to my psychology class and he would pick me up after that. It was a rainy Thursday night, but we went out to eat anyway. We went to the Fiesta that used to be by the bowling alley, and we really got terrible customer service. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken and then our food was cold by the time we got our food. We will always remember our first date though. We talked a lot. When we left, the manager gave us a lecture on how communication is key in a relationship. When he took me back home, I asked him to help me change the shower head in the shower since Ben and I were in he process of moving and I wasn't sure how to do it correctly. He didn't know either. We did, however, figure it out. So I found out on our first date that Cam was not exactly Handy-Man Cam.
3 years later, we are still going strong. We have known for at least 2 years that we will be married one day. I had always known he would propose after he graduated college. When he told me we were going to go hiking with all of our friends on our 3 year anniversary, I'm not gonna lie, I was a little mad that our friends were invited to our anniversary date. We hang out with our friends all the time. We all met at our apartment at 11:00 on that Sunday morning then started our trek to Cam and my favorite hiking spot in Cullman. Of course, like any other March 10, we had a little complication. His car started having a little trouble and we got held up in Moulton for a little while. We ended up piling into his mom's small Volvo, which is very small for 5 full grown adults. We went hiking that day. My friends are a lot like me and they all like to take pictures. So as soon as we got down to the creek at Hurricane Creek, Rylee said "Let's take pictures!" So we did. When it was Cam's turn to take a picture with me, Rylee said "do the 'She thought the view was pretty, but I thought she was prettier pose'". By the time they took the picture and told me that they were done, I turned around and Cam was down on one knee and he said "Will you marry me?" I said yes!
