Matron of Honor
Andi and Rachel met in kindergarten in Georgia and have been best friends ever since. All of Rachel’s favorite childhood memories include Andi. Rachel and Andi roomed together at the University of Georgia for 2 years. Now, Rachel and Sam love traveling to visit with Andi and her husband Jonathan. Rachel is so grateful for her lifelong friendship with Andi.
Best Man
Michael is Sam’s one and only brother. Sam has always looked up to him as he is 7 years older than him. Sam loved being the Best Man in Michael's wedding, and he cannot wait for Michael to be his Best Man.
Bridesmaid
Kalli and Rachel met freshman year at the University of Georgia. They shared many memories there, including being in the same small group at UGA’s Wesley Foundation and having 3 AM dance parties in the living room of Rachel's townhouse. Rachel loves anytime she gets the chance to drive down to Athens to catch up with Kalli at the Mexican restaurant they frequented in college. Kalli is an amazing friend to Rachel.
Groomsman
Kevin and Sam met in the 1st grade while they were in the same YGuides tribe and have been best friends ever since. As kids, they spent hours making up Star Wars stories in the backyard and playing video games. Now, they are in a Bible study group together, and Sam is truly grateful for Kevin’s lasting friendship.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Rachel roomed together while in dental school at East Carolina University. Rachel has recently enjoyed being in Anna's bridal party. Anna has been a great friend to Rachel and has been such a blessing during the stresses of earning a doctorate.
Groomsman
Donnie and Sam met in high school when they were both members of the marching band. They immediately bonded over their mutual obsession with the Carolina Hurricanes. Donnie was Sam’s roommate for three years in college and they spent many hours watching hockey together.
Bridesmaid
Lauren is Sam’s sister-in-law. Lauren is an absolute joy to be around, and she is the cool big sister Rachel always wanted. Lauren is outdoorsy, adventurous, and knows everything there is to know about plants. Rachel is so excited to have Lauren as a sister-in-law.
Groomsman
Frank is Sam’s second cousin. Growing up, they would spend hours playing video games and hanging out on the beach at the biennial McDonald family reunion. Recently, they have grown close attending Carolina Hurricanes games together after Frank moved to the triangle.
Bridesmaid
Gabby is Rachel’s sister-in-law. Rachel and Sam were recently in Brad and Gabby’s wedding. Gabby is such a fun addition to the Downs family, and Rachel is so excited to have her in the wedding.
Groomsman
Bradley is Rachel’s younger brother. Sam and Bradley have bonded over a mutual interest in sports and making jokes. Sam can’t wait to be part of the Downs family and for Bradley to be his brother-in-law.
Bridesmaid
Abby is one of Sam’s two cousins, but she is more like a sister to him. Abby is so knowledgeable, talented, and adventurous. Abby's recent semester abroad in Greece inspired Rachel and Sam's honeymoon in Greece! Rachel is so excited to continue getting to know Abby.
Groomsman
Sam met Josh in 2021 when they were both in Kevin’s wedding. They immediately bonded over their mutual obsession with sports and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They have become really good friends over the last year while in a Bible study together.
Bridesmaid
Ally is Sam’s other cousin who is also more of a sister to him. Ally is the coolest teenager Rachel knows, and she wishes she and Ally could have been high school friends. Rachel is so excited to have Ally as a new cousin-in-law.
Groomsman
Sam met Steven when they were in the trumpet section together in the high school marching band. They were in the same friend group throughout high school and college. They enjoyed attending many super hero movies at the local theater near NC State’s campus.
Reader
Rachel and Rebecca were classmates in dental school at ECU. Rebecca first encouraged Rachel to get on a dating app, which led to Rachel meeting Sam. This wedding would not have been possible without Rebecca, and Rachel is so grateful to have her as a friend.
