In the City of Oaks, we met through an honor society that we joined at the same time - but it really all started with a sugar-free cappuccino that Daniel brought me in an effort to continue his procrastination, and my own manic studying. We became friends through trips to Cookout and the Raleigh Rose Garden at midnight, psychology reviews with Domino's pizza, and alongside Alien Blood and almond butter with granny smith apples. We started dating when we realized that finger painting, kayaking, and chicken parm were too fun to experience alone. We fell in love by traveling to Wrightsville Beach, Hanging Rock, and Topsail Island, by hiking up different mountains and exploring different cities with our closest companions, and finding the best beers across the great state of North Carolina. Many springs later, we are happy to be celebrating our wedding - all because of a cappuccino.
After I completed my senior year at NC State, Daniel and I visited Denver, Colorado to celebrate and explore. We quickly wanted to trek the beauteous Rockies, and on day two of our week-long visit - we drove out to Estes Park, Colorado. After researching for the most scenic view, we decided on the Emerald Lake trail: 1.8 miles, point-to-point. Little did we know how much the elevation would impact us, as well as the several feet of snow. Yet hours later we made it to Emerald Lake, which was surrounded by snow-capped mountains and other eager explorers. After a short break, I started investigating after a marmot family. While I was snapping pictures, Daniel called my name - and there he was behind me on one knee. The rest of the story involves a whole lot of happy tears, and many falls in the snow on our way back.
