Paige and Justin both went to Western Kentucky University, but they didn’t meet until Paige’s last semester of college when they both decided to go on a study abroad trip to South Africa. They ended up sitting next to each other on safari, where they bickered and joked with each other so much the driver thought they were dating. Shortly after their return to the states, they actually were!

After Justin graduated college, Paige and Justin were living in different states and only seeing each other about once a month, so Justin had to work hard to surprise Paige. One weekend when they were visiting each other in Louisville, KY, Justin told Paige that they were going to church but wanted to leave early. He said they had some extra time and that he had an idea of what they could do. He took her for a walk in a beautiful park and told her about how he went there as a kid with his grandparents. As they’re walking across a bridge, suddenly Paige sees someone pop out from behind a bush with a camera and tells Justin that someone is taking pictures of them. When she turned to look at him, Justin tells her there’s something he had been wanting to ask her, gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him. And of course she said YES!
