Will there be a bar at the wedding?

Answer

Yes there will be. Our bartenders will be serving a variety of beers, hard ciders, and wines. They will not be serving hard liquor or mixed drinks. If there are any beer, cider or wine suggestion you would like to make or if you would like to donate alcohol to our wedding please send us an email at doveherndonwedding@gmail.com or feel free to contact one of us directly.

What are some things to do in the surrounding area?

Answer

In the area around Buena Vista and Salida there are almost endless options of ways to spend your free time. Some of our favorites include getting coffee and hot cocoa at the Midland Stop, exploring the various climbing spots in and around the town, soaking at Mt. Princeton hot springs, hiking to Ptarmigan Lake, visiting the abandoned town of St. Elmo, taking the scenic drive through Cottonwood Pass or visiting Cottonwood Lake. Our wedding should be happening right when the aspen trees turn yellow so we really suggest taking the time to visit the San Isabel National Forest there. Contact us if you need trail and camping reccomendations. If you're looking for something not as outdoorsy there is good shopping and restaurants along South Main in Buena Vista. Or if you want a quirky souvenir check out Cool Beans Coffee and Collectables. If you find yourself in Salida we recommend checking out the area around F St and 1 St for quirky shops and yummy food.
