We're Getting Married

We are thrilled to share the story of our love with you.

Our journey started in a classroom where fate intervened and brought Nneka and Douglas together. Nneka, with her warm smile and bold spirit, walked into Douglas’s classroom one day and playfully asked him, "What are we having for dinner?" Little did we know, that simple question would ignite a spark that would lead to countless shared meals and deep conversations.

From that first dinner question to navigating through challenges like the floods in Manasquan where we both tragically lost our cars we've faced it all together. The global pandemic was another test of our love and resilience, but it only strengthened our bond. As the saying goes, "Started from the bottom, now we're here," and we are grateful for every moment that has brought us closer and made us stronger as a couple.

In 2022, our family grew with the arrival of Ralph Oliver, our beloved puppy. Ralphie has brought boundless joy into our lives and fills our home with laughter and love every day.

On the beautiful morning of September 2, 2023 during the Belmar 5K race on Labor Day weekend Douglas surprised Nneka with a heartfelt proposal at the finish line. Surrounded by the cheers of nearly 1000 people it was a moment of pure joy and love. Douglas had even coordinated with Nneka’s family and his sisters to be there, making the proposal even more magical and unforgettable. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in our love story that we will cherish forever.

As we embark on the journey of planning our wedding, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. We are ready to create a future together filled with love, happiness, and cherished memories. We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with all of you, surrounded by the love and support of our family and friends who have been a part of our journey.
