Flight
Fly into the port town of Portland for outstanding seafood, breweries, and hipsters. It is a 45 minute drive from Portland to the venue or 40 minutes to Bath where we'll have our hotel blocks. This is one of Madeline and my favorite places to go, largely due to Eventide- which hands down is the best lobster roll in the world.
Flight
Fly into Boston to see the city we call home. Make sure to try a cup of joe from the famed Dunkin Donuts or try one of our favorites restaurants: Madeline: Grotto (Reservations recommended, Italian, in beautiful Beacon Hill) Doug: J.M. Curley (American, loud, by the Boston Common)
Train
Whether you start from Chicago/Bloomington (1 day, 15 hours) or Boston (3 hours, 15 minutes)- the Amtrak to Brunswick may be a nice option. Once to Brunswick, it is just a short 10 minute ride to Bath, ME.
Rental Car
17 hours from Illinois, we're sorry.. but it'll be worth it! Madeline and I typically break the drive home for Christmas into 2 days and stop near an outlet mall in Pennsylvania (Grove City) so I can hit up the Burton store there. Or since snow shouldn't be an issue, go up through Buffalo and stop at Niagara Falls (or through Canada if you have your passport and Canada allows us back in 2021).
Travel Note
We are recommending staying in Bath as it's on the way from Portland/Boston. But, we've heard good things about Boothbay (15 minute drive from venue). It may be worth looking into as an alternative option for a place to stay.
