What days should I plan to stay at Secrets Vallarta Bay?

Answer

The room blocks are set for Saturday May 27th 2023-Tuesday May 30th 2023. However, you're able to extend your visit up to 3 days before AND/OR after those dates for the same discounted rates if you'd like to extend your vacation. Doug & Lauren will be at the resort from Friday - Wednesday and there will be optional activities scheduled for Saturday & Sunday with the wedding/reception being held on Monday.

Is it ok if I stay at a different resort?

Answer

Technically, Yes. However, we prefer that you stay with us at Secrets. We will be using the resort as a convenient, all-inclusive way for everyone to mingle and provides us with a centralized location where we can easily hangout with all of you! Please note that the shuttle to our wedding location will be leaving from the resort as well, and anyone not at our resort will need to find their own transportation to the marina. Additionally, there will be organized activities at the hotel and anyone staying at a different location will likely not be able to join us.

Can I bring someone who has not been invited to the wedding?

Answer

Anyone is welcome to come to the resort, stay in your room, and/or join us for activities throughout the weekend! However, there is a very limited capacity at the wedding venue, so your guest will need to stay back for the ceremony/reception.

Is it OK to bring my kid(s)?

Answer

Secrets Vallarta Bay is an adults-only resort. As our wedding capacity is limited, our ceremony/reception is also adults-only. However, it is OK if you stay at a different location. Feel free to contact us for babysitting recommendations as our wedding planner will point you in the right direction.

How do I get from the airport to the resort?

Answer

There will be shuttles available for you to arrange based on your flight itinerary. Contact the resort for more information.

What should I wear to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Beachy Formal / Dressy Casual is the recommended attire, but really dress however makes you most comfortable.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

May in Puerto Vallarta should be humid, sunny, and warm! Rainy season begins in June, so there's a small chance for rain. In this case, we have backup plans for the ceremony/reception.

Where are you registered for gifts?

Answer

We don't have a traditional gift registry. We understand the inherent costs of asking you to join us at our destination wedding, and your presence is more than enough! If you do insist on getting us a gift, there is a registry tab on this website where you can contribute to the costs of our honeymoon! Thank you!

Will transportation be provided to/from the resort?

Answer

The resort offers shuttles for multiple destinations that you will be able to book through the resort concierge at your convenience. The only transportation we have scheduled for you will be the shuttle from Secrets Resort to the marina and back, and the Catamaran to/from the wedding location.

What dates will Doug and Lauren be staying at the Secrets resort?

Answer

We will be checking in at Secrets Vallarta on May 25th and checking out on May 31st.
