We met in the library at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Doug was working the circulation desk and Caleb was just looking for a place to study. Having discovered a shared interest in film music, we had a chance to see John Williams in concert together in Chicago. From there, it was late night walks and chats along the lakeshore. Then, on a trip to the Eternal City (Rome), we decided to give a relationship a try.

After a year and a half of being together, Doug surprised Caleb with a proposal at Lighthouse Beach in Evanston, IL. The following New Years Day, Caleb returned the "favor", proposing to Doug on the beach at Pine Lake United Methodist Camp. Together, we have celebrated new appointments, grieved the loss of loved ones, and road-tripped across the country. Now, we look forward to the adventures that lie ahead!
