FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Only the ones we know about! Seriously, we've included your children and significant others in your invitation - our ceremony and reception venues have strict attendance limits and we've had to plan accordingly.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We'd recommend staying anywhere in midtown that suits you. Alida and Doug will be staying at the Ink 48 hotel (additional info on the travel page!) - you're welcome to join us there. We have opted not to book blocks of rooms anywhere - please let us know if you need travel help or suggestions.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Do it right now, on this website! We make it easy for you! You don't even have to go to a mailbox! Don't you love living in the age of the Jetsons?! In all seriousness, please RSVP by July 1st if possible - but feel free to contact us directly with any concerns.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by 1:30, so you can get settled and make sure you are at the right place. Central Park can be confusing to those who don't know it. If you have trouble finding us, inquire at the kiosk near the park entrance at 59th Street and 6th Avenue (we will have someone stationed there as well). If you would like transportation to the ceremony, please be at the Ink48 hotel on 48th street and 11th Avenue at 1pm and we will take you over.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

For folks leaving for the Ceremony from the Ink 48 that morning, we've got something planned (please be there at 1pm if you'd like to join), and we've got transportation for everyone going from the ceremony to the reception. You're going to love it! No spoilers but it's cute!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Late Summer Festive Formal...basically whatever makes you feel comfortable at an August wedding in Central Park, followed by a dinner at a semi-casual NYC restaurant. No bikinis or ballgowns required - just find something in between! Full show beat is of course completely optional.

Question

What about Covid?

Answer

Hopefully we will all be vaccinated by then! Please bring your proof of vaccination if possible for the restaurant as NYC now asks for that at indoor dining locations. Feel free to wear a mask to the ceremony and reception if that makes you comfortable. Our ceremony will be outdoors, but the reception will be indoors at a restaurant - that said, we are maintaining the guest list at 35% of the restaurant's capacity. Above all, use common sense - and stay healthy!

Question

Why the digital invites?

Answer

We are trying to save the planet and be good citizens of the earth. By doing our invitations digitally, not only are we saving trees, lowering our carbon footprint, but also you will conveniently have the information you need in that email (save the email) for all things wedding related, and the link to this website. Nobody forgets their phone, but paper...you can count on it!
