Sarah and Doug first met on eHarmony. They were matched and began communicating on September 12, 2015. After a few long messages back and forth, they met for their first date on September 27 at the Akron Zoo followed by Mr. Zubs. It was love at first sight for Doug, and consequently he was awkward and tongue tied throughout the entire date. Sarah was convinced the date was a failure after Doug barely spoke, but after some persuasion from her family and explanations from Doug, she luckily gave him another shot. After a few (more successful) dates, they became an official couple on October 10. Three years and tons of adventures later, they decided it was time to take the next step forward together.

Doug worked on the perfect proposal for months. He wanted to propose on their third anniversary, but work schedules forced him to wait an extra day. He planned an elaborate treasure hunt for Sarah that included visiting some of her favorite local places (Chubby's, Bombay Sitar, Ohio Tea Company, and Jackson Park), finding keys, and solving attached puzzles to reach the next location. At the park, he had hidden a box referencing a favorite game and TV show as well as the ring. Sarah said, "Yes!" and the rest is history. We are looking forward to celebrating this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in Peninsula!
