Erin & Dan

Wedding Party

Meet our fiercest people! The ones we know will help us protect, nurture, and celebrate our marriage for the rest of our lives.

Rocquelle Hy

Maid of Honor

Rocquelle is my little sister, but she feels more like my mirror. We’re thirteen years apart, the bookends of the Hy daughters and despite the age gap we're the same person in the best ways. She is the funniest human I know that is still alive (because Halley will always hold the crown) She is so incredibly confident in who she is, it's magnetic and impossible not to love. Beyond that, I am so proud of the woman she has become, how she stands up for herself, protects her peace, and never waivers on what matters most to her. She’s my best friend and being with her makes everything lighter, brighter, and better.

Dan Truran

Best Man

Dan Truran is one of the most dedicated and loyal friends I’ve ever had. He’s been there for me through some incredibly hard moment, like, really hard and has never once wavered. When Erin and I went on our first date, Dan came up within the first five minutes. That’s when we realized we had so much in common. In a way, our relationship moved at 2x speed because knowing Dan made Erin feel instantly safe and connected. We’ve been friends for 20 years, and in that time I’ve seen firsthand the compassion, wisdom, and steadiness that make Dan who he is. I know he’s going to be a really, really good therapist. And lastly, no one loves the Bills more than Dan. Erin may not appreciate that statement, but it’s the truth.

Erin Mae Cooper

Bridesmaid

Erin Mae is my sister and my namesake twin, though we couldn’t be more different in spirit - she’s calm, steady, and one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. One of my favorite memories of her is the time she showed up at my apartment on a random rainy weekday, and we spent the whole afternoon in bed eating cinnamon rolls and watching Harry Potter. That’s who she is: thoughtful, grounding, and exactly what you need when you don’t know you need it. She’s one of the safest people in my life, and I can’t imagine my world without her.

Matt Down

Groomsman

Matt is my little brother, and one of the hardest-working people I know. Someday, we’ll be running our family’s business together, and I honestly dream about that day. It’s something I know will be challenging, rewarding, and a lot of fun. Matt is also the COD GOD. Not the fish. His dedication there might rival his work ethic. Matt will be marrying my amazing soon to be sister-in-law, Nina, and I’m really looking forward to living nearby and building this next chapter of our lives together.

Andrea Soto

Bridesmaid

Andrea and I met in college in 2012, and to say we didn’t exactly hit it off would be an understatement- we both liked the same guy, she thought I was fake for dying my hair, and she called me “The Mafia Leader” behind my back because I was loud and had too many friends. But by 2013, she was praying for me instead of being a H8er, and somehow her prayers changed everything! She bleached her hair, I stood by her as her Maid of Honor, and now she’s my very best friend. Andrea is the most generous person I’ve ever known and she’s taught me almost everything I know about love, friendship, and grace. She is also the best and bravest twin mom I know.

Jadon Morales

Groomsman

Jadon is a total goofball in the best possible way. He’s just as nerdy as I am, which feels like a rare find. I first met him in 2020 when my sister came home from her Disney College Program with a new boyfriend who, by some miracle, lived only an hour away from us in New York State. Fast-forward a few years, and Jadon is now my brother-in-law, he and my sister got married in the fall of 2023. He’s also an incredibly talented filmmaker, and I genuinely believe you’ll see his name in major movie credits someday!

Michelle Torres

Bridesmaid

I don't think they've invented a word yet to accurately describe how important Michelle is to me. I used to joke that she was: my mom, my sister, my dad, my best friend, my boss and my boyfriend all in one person. 13 years ago she asked if we could be best friends and I told her no.... but here she is now, the person I text almost every thought and turn to when I need comfort. It will be hard to replace her with Dan. That should give you an idea of the fierce love that pours out of this woman. She is my sister and was also a true sister to Halley. I genuinely owe so much to Michelle, her presence in my life has shaped who I am today and I always feel so special knowing she chose me as a best friend.

Daniel Esteves

Groomsman

Dan and I first met at Fake Bible College in 2011 because someone randomly stuck him in the room that was supposed to be just for Steve and me, in a triple room, no less. At first I was pissed… and honestly, I’m still pissed about it. But I also love him, and he’s become my best friend. Dan is a constant source of humor. He’s really obnoxious, but in the most authentic and strangely beautiful way possible. You may not always understand him but I do. Over the last 15 years, I’ve watched him grow so much, and I’m excited for this next chapter of our lives as he marries his fiancée, Catiebelle. (Who, by the way, is officiating our wedding!)

Cameron Cooley

Bridesmaid

Cameron and I met in 2014 via email when I was her admissions counselor at Nyack. I still remember the exact moment her family pulled up to campus - I screamed her name across South Boulevard like we’d been friends for years. From that moment on, she was my person. Cameron is in every single one of my favorite memories from my early twenties. She’s the one who laughs at my jokes before I even finish them, the one who always knows what I'm thinking, the one who has seen me through so many versions of myself. Now she’s raising two beautiful kids in Buffalo, and I couldn’t be prouder to call her my best friend.

Mike Barlow

Groomsman

Mike is a very silly guy who has always been there for me, whether that meant playing video games together or driving really crappy cars way too fast down dirt roads, to now somehow both of us being newly married within a couple years of each other. Mike and his wife, Becky, are just great people. They’re authentic, funny, and never trying to be anything they’re not. What you see is exactly what you get, and I love them for that. Mike truly feels like a brother to me. I could probably say that about all the guys standing up here with me, but Mike has a way of feeling like everyone’s brother. He’s someone you can always count on and there's no way I could get married without Mike up there cheering me on.

Rachel Neumann

Bridesmaid

Rachel and I go all the way back to Tonawanda High, where we both ran for Junior Class President and ended up stuck in a three-way “co-president” arrangement. Out of that chaos came a friendship that has carried me through every version of myself since. Rachel is blunt in the most refreshing way: what she feels is always right there on her face, and she’s never once wasted her time pretending to be someone she’s not. She’s the prototype of a best friend: loyal, hilarious, brutally honest, and fiercely loving. She saw me through the madness of high school, the mess of my early adulthood, and everything after. Rachel is family.

Steve Barlow

Groomsman

Steve has been in my life for as long as I can remember. We’ve been friends since we were toddlers; through youth group, Boy Scouts, homeschool groups, Eagle Scouts, summer camps, fake college, and even that brief time he lived in my house which wasn’t for long, but definitely long enough to say we lived together once.

Melissa Giuliano

Bridesmaid

I met Melissa at Mont Lawn Camp (drop that beat) back in June 2015, and we spent that summer thick as thieves - pranking people and talking about the same boys like it was our full-time job. We lost touch after that for almost a decade, until one day I posted a picture of Dan and me on my Instagram story for the first time, and she replied, “Omg no way!!!!! That’s one of my husband’s friends!!!” And just like that, HY BOMB and DAS BOMB were reunited. Melissa is the kind of friend who makes every day lighter and funnier just by being around, and having her so close by has been one of the best surprises of my adult life. I know her and Frankie will be our West Milford besties forever!

Kevin Torres

Groomsman

I met Kevin through Erin on our third date. From the very beginning, it was clear that he is just a genuinely good man. We connected over a shared knowledge of woodworking and he and Erin are constantly bouncing ideas for their gardens off each other. BTW: You should talk to Kevin about his urban front yard garden in East Orange, NJ. Kevin is married to Michelle (who I ended up talking with for most of that third date), and together they’ve been a huge part of Erin’s life. Because of that, I know Kevin and Michelle will be lifelong friends to both of us. I wanted Kevin standing with me on this day because I know he’s someone I’ll be turning to for years to come.

Becky Barlow

Bridesmaid

Becky came into my life with Dan, which makes her one of my most recent and unexpected friends. From the moment I met her, I knew I’d love her forever. She’s sweet and spicy and warm and real, the kind of friend who radiates grace and authenticity without even trying. She’s my DIY queen (you can thank her for making my wedding so beautiful), and the kind of woman I can easily imagine building a life alongside; sharing family moments, quiet mornings, and a lot of laughter. I’m so grateful I get to grow old with Dan, but I’m secretly almost as grateful that I get to grow old with Becky now, too.

Frank Giuliano Jr.

Groomsman

Frank has been in my life for many years, but when Erin and I met, and she reconnected with Melissa, Frank suddenly became a much bigger part of my everyday life. Frank and I have always been similar: we’re both on the quieter side, and we both somehow ended up marrying wonderfully loud, extroverted women. We love spending time together, and now that Frank and Melissa are our neighbors up in West Milford, I know we'll be spending time together often in the future. I'm really glad we've connected as couples and I'm thankful Frankie will be standing up there with me.
