We met at our gym, CrossFit Aggieland, which we both joined in August of 2018. While we had seen one another around, we never truly spoke until the week before Spring break of 2020. Unfortunately, the gym closed the very next week due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to Instagram, we stayed in touch and arranged outside workouts with some of our friends. We immediately hit it off and became inseparable, spending every day after that together.
On November 14th, 2020, I had arranged to have graduation photos taken at Texas A&M University. I already planned to include Jacob in some photos so that we had a couple of nice pictures together. Once we were towards the end of the session at the Texas A&M gardens, we were sitting on the bench swings when Jacob began to stand up. Confused, I asked him what he was doing. Before I knew it, he was on one knee! This was the easiest yes I had ever said. Jacob planned everything with the photographer. He even had both of our families watching from the third story of the wildlife and fisheries building! Little did I know that my graduation photo session would turn into something much bigger.
Since Jacob graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2020, he has been working as a mechanical engineer for the Melt Shop team at Nucor Texas in Jewett. Since Madeline graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2020, she has been working as a medical assistant at Central Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopedics alongside many physicians and nurses. She applied to Physician Assistant School in June of 2021 and is now waiting to hear back from programs.
