The year was 2017, Jason had sworn off relationships and was convinced he would be OK staying single in perpetuity. Dorothy was still in search of her Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet and give her her happily ever after. In the early stages of our relationship, neither of us really thought we'd found The One. In so many ways, we were complete opposites. There was Jason, who was the laid-back gourmand who claimed he could never be with a picky eater and lives by the idea of Carpe Diem and takes things as they come. And then there was Dorothy who likes to eat, but only the foods she likes and thrives off planning, structure, and organization and abhors anything that resembles disorder. Yet, we found ourselves more and more inextricably intertwining with each other until we realized that, to our surprise, we'd become each others' best friend. Providing the Yin to the other's Yang; bringing balance to the Force (Jason obviously being of the Light side). So here we are, more than 6 years later. 6+ years of ups & downs, celebrations & trials, laughter & tears, successes & failures, but above all else, recognizing and committing to one another that there's no one else in the world that we want to journey through the rest of our lives with.
